What’s in a Name?

In a nod to her Red Hills roots and love for the great outdoors, Desta (founder) turned to a quintessential game bird for the inspiration behind her brand. With countless hours afield among rolling hills, and early mornings marked by dew-dotted wiregrass, nothing quite portrays communication like the call of the Bobwhite Quail. The call of the Bobwhite is as majestic as the land is beautiful, and this iconic call is used by a group of quail – also called a “covey”- to communicate. Soft, elegant contact calls are used to stay in touch with each other while moving and foraging. More whistles mean strong habitat, bigger numbers, and ultimately a happy, healthy, and thriving covey. So, you see, effective communication isn’t just a necessity for great PR, it also works pretty well for our little friend, the Bobwhite Quail.
